As promised, Day 57 ended with a one-hour bike ride. As is usually the case when I ride (or swim or run) late in the day, I felt very good, loose, fast. It does, however, get dark quite quickly these days. No more rides that start after 5pm.
Day 58: Dark in the morning is OK, though. 39-40 degrees is not. Good thing I'd prepared every bit of clothing I owned last night. Went to the winter gear: balaclava, lobster gloves, booties, 2 shirts plus heavy bike shirt, fleece-lined tights...it actually worked well, save for my face frozen into an odd shape by the end of the ride, which went 40 miles in 2:15. I saw one other nut out there. I caught and passed him. Mission accomplished.
Tempo run later.
