IMAZ, Day 12: When you just don't feel like pullling on that wetsuit...

The prospect of dragging the gear to the beach, the chill, whatever had me reconsider this morning's intended open water swim in favor of a run. Following someone else's plan, this was a tempo run, and since I hadn't run yesterday, I figured it was well worth the effort. A couple miles warm up, then 5x1 mile at 6:45 pace on a minute rest, a couple miles warm down was the intent. Actually perfect for IM prep and not too bad for Westchester prep, either. The workout felt really good, and the miles became a bit faster (shocking) and negative, running from 6:36 down to a final 5:59. Jogged the minute rest so it was a continuous run, which I like better for tempo runs anyway. 70 minutes total, felt good, ready perhaps for a swim later and - gasp - tomorrow's century.
