It was announced today that Dan Rather, long time CBS anchor who was "disgraced" when his reporting on George Bush's alleged military career was called into question, will now host a show on HDNet, the high definition station owned by Mark Cuban. Sports fans know Mr. Cuban as the flamboyant and boistrous owner of the Dallas Mavericks. Thus, a few questions:
- Since few people have committed to HD TV as of yet, will Mr. Cuban be the only viewer?
- Is there any truth that Dan Rather will also be calling Mavs games ("YESSSS! And the foul!") as part of his package?
I'm sure he won't be hurting for money, but it is sad to see Rather's mainstream media career derailed because he reported the truth. Ironic how Bush, Cheney, etc. are not themselves banished to some banana republic for not being quite accurate about the WMD stuff.
